APEX is built on the principle that your home data belongs to you. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service, we never sell your personal information, and we give you full control to access or delete your data at any time.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Information you provide directly:
- Account information — email address and password (stored as a secure hash)
- Home profile — address, year built, square footage, home type, and property details
- Appliance information — names, brands, models, serial numbers, and condition
- Documents — inspection reports, warranty documents, and manuals you upload
- Maintenance tasks, utility bills, and home improvement records
- Chat messages sent to the AI assistant
Information collected automatically:
- Device type and operating system (for compatibility)
- App usage events such as screen views and feature interactions
- Crash reports and error logs
- To provide and operate the APEX service
- To power the AI assistant — your home profile, appliances, and documents are sent to our AI provider to generate relevant responses
- To compute your Home Vitality Score and maintenance recommendations
- To send task reminders and maintenance alerts (if enabled)
- To process subscription payments through the App Store
- To respond to support requests
- To diagnose and fix technical issues
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
APEX uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Anthropic Claude — powers the AI assistant. Chat messages and relevant home context are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. Privacy Policy ↗
- Rentcast — provides live property valuation and equity data based on your home's address. Your home address is transmitted to Rentcast's API to retrieve estimated market value and equity information. Privacy Policy ↗
- RevenueCat — manages subscription billing and entitlements. Privacy Policy ↗
- Apple App Store — handles payment processing for subscriptions. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.
- Open-Meteo — provides weather data based on your home's zip code. No personal identifiers are sent. Privacy Policy ↗
All your home data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens expire after 30 days. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Access to your data within the service is scoped to your household — only members you have invited can view your home's information.
APEX requests camera and photo library access solely to enable appliance scanning, inspection report uploads, and utility bill scanning. Photos are processed by our AI service to extract relevant information and are not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the scan.
- Access — you can view all your stored data within the app at any time
- Correction — you can edit your home profile, appliances, and tasks directly in the app
- Deletion — email support@apexhome.app to request deletion of your account and all data. We will process within 30 days
- Subscription management — cancel at any time through your Apple ID settings
APEX is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
